Jumbo Mortgage Loans
There are two basic types of mortgages, conforming loans and jumbo loans. Currently, the conforming limit is $417,000. Any greater loan amount is called a jumbo loan. Jumbo mortgage loans are unique because they do not conform to loan limits set by Fannie Mae (The Federal National Mortgage Association of FNMA) or Freddie Mac (The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., or FHMLC).
